Senior Control System Engineer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

ROLE PURPOSE:
This position is required to support multiple assets across the business unit and provide Instrument Control system engineering experience and knowledge.
Assignments will range from front-end conceptual engineering, through detail engineering, procurement, site engineering, pre-commissioning and commissioning and handover activities to stake holder.
This position shall also provide Control & Safety system interfaces for Greenfield topside facilities and brownfield tie-in to existing assets with respect to Engineering, detailed design, procurement, fabrication, installation and HUC supports.
Must be familiar with international codes such as IEC, ISA, ISO, BS, NFPA, TUV Rheinland, PTS.

Initiallybased in the KL office for interfacing with EPCIC contractor during detailed design phase. Will roll over to fabrication yard during construction stage to provide support to Control system, fabrication, installation and site activities and ultimately to offshore platform up to completion of first gas.

Job Requirements


Knowledge & Qualification
  • A bachelors' degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Control system Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a graduate engineer.
  • Conversant with Instrument control & safety system design requirements using IEC, ISA, ISO, TUV Rheinland and other applicable codes and standards.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the full project cycle from concept development through to handover of system to stake holder.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of control and safety system design and philosophies, control narrative, system architecture, system communication protocols and hardwares, asset management system, data Historian (PI, OPC etc), ICSS domain securities & firewalls, alarm handling & management, Technical system specification, CCR/LER layout.
Experience
  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in control & safety system design, equipment layout and specification, including considerable practical experience in the fabrication and installation for offshore facilities.
  • Experience of working as part of a multi discipline team for facilities engineering projects and/or offshore development projects.
  • Experience in implementing EPCIC upstream offshore projects, managing and interfacing with EPCIC contractors for offshore facilities project at yard or offshore.
  • Proven experience with the architecture, technical specification and application of control system and control system layout within an offshore oil and gas facility, including the procurement, fabrication, Installation and commissioning requirements.
  • Proven track record of complete execution of integrated control and safety system, Safety/Control system Network and integration with Telecommunication system, IT network and miscellaneous topside facilities equipment package control system for offshore production/processing facilities.
  • Experience in Intools/SPI.
