An established engineering equipment service provider is looking for a Regional Safety (HSE) Coordinator / Assistant Manager to oversee HSE compliance at their manufacturing site. This position reports to the Senior HSE Manager.
About the Regional Safety (HSE) Coordinator / Assistant Manager Role:
An established engineering equipment service provider is looking for a Regional Safety (HSE) Coordinator / Assistant Manager to implement and monitor HSE plans, procedures and work instruction at various sites. This position reports to the Senior HSE Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Safety and Sustainability activities and performance complies with legislations and corporate requirements
- Identify, manage and reduce exposure to environmental, safety and health risks of operations
- Ensure the Safety Management System is implemented
- Monitor environmental, safety and health performance
- Provide coaching and guidance of Safety and Sustainability requirements to all relevant personnel (including Safety Assistants and HSE representatives)
- Provide advice to branches, operating units and project teams
- Ensure legal and corporate requirements are identified and complied with
- Assist in ensuring compliance with the requirements of the corporate Safety Management System
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Prepare relevant reports required for HSE performance
- Establish and maintain risk registers and assist with the identification and implementation of effective risk control measures
- Conduct incident investigations in accordance to the Incident Notification and Investigation procedure
- Ensure effective Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans have been developed, implemented and regularly tested
- Ensure workplace inspection programs are implemented and ESH monitoring programs are on-going
To succeed in the Regional Safety (HSE) Coordinator / Assistant Manager role, you will need to have sufficient knowledge of ESH Principles, Legal Requirements and understanding of relevant international as well as local management systems.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
- Certificate in Safety & Health Officer from NIOSH
- Registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH (Green book)
- 5 years of site HSE experience (equipment/structural fabrication, construction or oil & gas industries)
- Self-starter, independent and operationally hands-on
- Strong leadership and problem solving
- Assertive, possess excellent interpersonal skills and strong interest in HSE field
- Able to travel up to 60% to cover several sites
