PROJECT MANAGER ( MARINE GEOPHYSICS )

Roles And Responsibilities 

  • Managing assigned marine geophysical projects, ensuring all tasks are carried out in accordance with Fugro’s published Quality Assurance procedures and QHSE policy. Constantly observing Company’s ABC ( anti-bribery and corruption ) and best business conduct policy; ensuring all project team members and suppliers are adhering to the same.
 
  • Key communication and focal point to Client of assigned project throughout the project life cycle; representing Company to discuss and reaching agreement with Client on project scheduling, technical expectation, achievable results quality, commercial / variation order, data processing and reporting objectives, and final deliverables formats and timing.
 
  • Effective planning and smooth execution of projects in the most cost-effective approach whilst ensuring good utilisation of available resources; and project delivery in a timely manner.
 
  • Always ensure project acquired data and results are adhere to customer’s defined specifications and objectives; final deliverable is submitted in client desire format within agreed timeline schedule.
 
  • Keep track of project expenses and running budget throughout the entire life span of assigned project whilst ensure project execution stays within budget. Tasks include issuance, checking and approving purchase orders; submitting invoices promptly and follow through with client to ensure timely payments are received. Produce monthly project accounting including running profitability and WIP analysis, revenue and cashflow forecast, invoice and receivable status, updates and forecast.

Requirements
  •  Skills and experience in managing projects for / related to the oil & gas and/or marine survey industry; knowledgeable in handling vessel associated projects / operation in multiple regions / countries preferred.
 
  • Strong communication skills with excellent command of written and spoken English; preference given if capable to communicate in other Asian / local languages.
 
  • Strong management skills in resource planning; financial planning, tracking and control; documentation development and tracking.
 
  • Team player with strong leadership and willingness to develop others; able to handle conflicts.
 
  • Planning and analytical skills with experience in relevant techniques and software application, strong problem-solving skills.
 
  • High focus on project quality and HSE performance, experience in risk assessment techniques and exercise.
 
  • Prepared to travel and working long hours and/or during odd hours; as and when required.
 
  • Candidates must have the right to live and work in Malaysia.  

Additional Details

Principal Working Relationship :
  • Working closely with business development and tendering team during project handover; develop relevant project documentations and understanding of commercial structure, to ensure a technically and financially successful project will be achieved.
 
  • Working closely with technical and operational supports team on vessel, equipment and personnel allocation to ensure project specifications, requirements and objectives are met.
 
  • Working closely with data processing and reporting team to ensure project deliverables are meeting project specification, and submitted in a timely manner.
 
  • Retain good and regular communication with intercompany groups and supporting / third-party companies; ensuring best quality, most economical and suitable services / consumables / equipment and supports are provided for the project.

     Desirable Experience :   
    •  Degree ( or equivalent ) in project or business management.
     
    • Experience working with multinational company.
     
    • Minimum 8 years working experience in relevant field, in marine survey and / or energy industry.
